Did you know? We’re more alike than you think.
I know this is the welcome post, but let’s get to know each other for a bit. These are just a few questions to get us acclimated. I know pop quizzes are definitely not the key to making new friends, but there is absolutely no pressure here!
a wild Pop Quiz has appeared
See. Easy, right?
If you answered “yes” to any one of those questions, then we’re in luck. We can relate to each other, no matter if we are in different parts of the world right now, have completely different backgrounds and interests, we may not have ever met before.
And yet, we are already so alike.
My name is Claudia
Currently, I’m about to graduate from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Professional Writing. What am I actually going to do with those degrees, you ask?
To be frank, I’m not too sure. I enjoy writing, designing, collaborating, and creating. But I also have a knack for teaching and networking. I can confidently say I’m more knowledgeable than most regarding financial literacy, but does that place me at an advantage in this great game of life? Probably a little, but not by much. I’ve considered going into brand marketing, being a designer, riding the coattails of social media influencing, and even being an accountant.
I don’t know what I’m doing after graduating
Well, to a certain extent. I’ve planned a 5 1/2 month solo trip throughout Asia, and then I don’t know what I’m doing after. There’s nothing that makes me run faster than when someone asks me what my plans after graduation are. I’ll reply saying I’m going abroad.
Then they’ll slowly nod and say, “Yay! Sounds cool. What about after?”
Of course, that’s when I admit that it’s all uncertain for now. But hey, we’re figuring it out together.
ok… so what is “scribbles by claudia”?
The best comparison I can make to describe the concept of Scribbles by Claudia is the little animated alter ego of Lizzie McGuire. The one who is there to give voice to things you can’t say aloud. The one who comes in at the most opportune times to sprinkle a little humor, insights, and revelations.
I’ve created this blog to showcase my journey into adulthood as an emerging baby adult straight out of college. Whether you are navigating your way into adulthood as well– good luck– or haven’t gotten there yet, this blog will detail my coming-of-age in the most raw, authentic, relatable, and (hopefully) humorous way possible. “Scribbles” pays homage to the inevitable imperfection of the journey, just as the writing may not be as academically refined or filled with rhythm and prose in more highly technical, professional spaces. This is a place for us to learn and grow.
Will there be tremendous joys? Yes.
Will there be insufferable struggles? Yes.
Will we get through this and figure out our place in this grand, grand world? Most definitely, yes.
